FERNANDO CARDENAS

Director and Cinematographer Fernando Cardenas made his way to the USA from Bogota, Columbia, eventually settling in Los Angeles after a stint in 1980’s Philadelphia. After not graduating from art school, Fernando began working for the Director’s Bureau/HKM, where he collaborated with a variety of innovative Directors. Shortly thereafter, he helped form the directing team AV Club before directing solo campaigns for clients including, Apple, Nike, Vans, and Uber.

Fernando moved on to be a Director/Cinematographer for projects for agencies like Wieden+Kennedy, WongDoody, Mother, and 180 LA.  

He created branded content for H&M, Nike, JanSport, and LD Tuttle Shoes, as well as doing music videos for a variety of top-tiered labels.

One thing led to another, and Fernando began lensing projects for a slew of global clients, including Apple, HP, Google, ESPN, Adidas, Facebook, YouTube and Beats.

His cinematic vision and formidable head of hair soon caught the attention of TBWA\Media Arts Lab, who tapped him to direct for their client and eventually to do their web and TV spots. One thing led to another, and Fernando began lensing projects for a slew of global clients, including Apple, HP, Google, ESPN, Adidas, Facebook, YouTube and Beats.
